“Lovely Quiet Hotel”

Stayed over the bank holiday at this hotel for one night only, small double room with ensuite, spotlessly clean and very friendly staff the breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day ahead. Great location just a 10 minute stroll into the centre. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your groovy comments. If you are staying for one night we would allocate the smallest rooms, seems fairest; however these are highly highly satisfactory. Can we tempt you to stay longer in the Summer? We have some great 3+ night offers on at the mo and we may get some decent weather. However we have no control... More

we had the bootham suite, on the top floor. It was just what we needed, quiet and airy with good facilities and a king sized bed. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was a car park, it was an easy walk into the city centre, and breakfast was cooked to order. Job done.

I liked this one. It has a lovely setting in a leafy, quiet street in a good area. A superb guest house with greathospitality and comfortable rooms. Fantastic location, quiet are and only 10 minutes walk from York Minster. Great room with lovely and spotless en-suite facilities. Fantastic breakfast too.

On arrival we were met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. This level of service set thetone for the rest of our stay. Little touches like notes in the rooms just in case you need extra tea or coffee to restaurant recommendations just added to the experience. York was the choice of our destination this year for our mother and daughter annual weekend trip. The Groves just fitted the bill perfectly,in a quiet, pleasant location, only a 10 minute, safe walk into the city attractions and 10-15 minutes straight walk to railway station as we opted to travel by train from edinburgh.
