We stayed for a couple of nights in this Victorian house and received the warmest welcome we have ever had in the UK. The area is quiet and the bed was comfortable so we managed to sleep late - this is rare for us. Breakfast was amasing and set us up for the whole day. We left our car at... more

Bruce is a great host for a visit to York. We loved York and would love to come back to visit the city and Bruce. The rooms were clean with nice linens. As expected with some B&Bs, the room was small. Breakfast was awesome, and Bruce will cook up almost anything you could want. The owner gave us plenty of... more

Bruce & Rosemary run a very friendly and clean B&B. Upon arriving we were met by Bruce who was very informative and gave us lots of information and places to visit whilst in York. Along with their team of friendly staff Bruce (who is an American)makes a good english breakfast, along with his speciality of waffles made the american way.... more

The hotel is a bed and breakfast style, with small though fully acceptable rooms. Situated in a calm part of York, within reasonable walking distance to the city centre. They serve a breakfast that is without comparison even if you´re used to 5-star hotels. When on holiday and away from home you really appreciate this start to a new day.... more

From the moment of arrival, our host, Bruce, made us extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and his helpful and cheery disposition made the stay very enjoyable. As for the American breakfast.........................fantastic!! Thanks. more

My family and I enjoyed three wonderful evenings at Carol and Peter's Romley House in York. The breakfasts were splendid, our room was fairly small but nonetheless comfortable. The Romley House is conveniently located near a wonderful park for children and only a relatively short distance to the City walls and other attractions. We have already recommended the Romley House... more

It's okay for the price - 30 pounds for a single room, although they had risen it to 32 pounds, which they initially wanted to charge me. After I protested they agreed on 30 pounds which was the deal in the first place. I was given a double room which was big enough for myself, but which I considered too... more

I stayed here in July and couldn't have been happier. The guest house is on a quiet street but is an easy walk from the train station and downtown (and is very close to one of the stops on the tour bus). I booked a single for 27 pounds and was given a family room but still charged the lower... more
