We stayed at The Hazlewood just for one night Monday 15 April 2013, for my partner's birthday. I don't believe we could have made a better choice. It is wonderfully clean and luxurious for a Guest House, for example the added touch of fluffy bathrobes in our wardrobe was a nice touch. We stayed in the newly refurbished Room 2,... More

Me and my son stayed here for a couple of nights in April. What a lovely guesthouse down a quiet street. The twin room was spotless and nicely decorated with the welcome addition of a well stocked tea tray and some toiletries. The breakfast was just great, lots of choice and lots of it. No need for lunch! For a... More

A fabulous location, within easy walking distance of the main centre of York. Free parking too and a delicious breakfast. The rooms are clean and bright. I can recommend staying at the Hazelwood. If you are visiting York by car, then consider staying here, you won't regret it.

My husband and I stayed at the Hazelwood for two days last week and had a wonderful time. We chose the location based on its proximity to sights in York and the rate was commensurate with other similarly located options. Our room was really comfortable and absolutely spotless, the location could not be beat as its a short walk to... More

I stayed for one night with my 12 year old son. I booked late and paid £80 upfront having found it through the Internet. The pluses: It was very easy to find; We were welcomed at 12pm, our room was ready and so we were able to drop our bag and leave; It is very close to the city walls;... More

We booked one night here because of it's central location and it's rating on Tripadvisor. It is very handy for theatres for sure. Sharon gave us a lovely welcome and was most helpful during our stay. The allocated room overlooking 'the garden' was not particularly large, quite dark and with a very small en-suite. The shower was not functional on... More

Lovely guest house. Booked on the spur of the moment and luckily they had a spare room. The room was very clean and large on the ground floor. The bed was lovely and very comfortable. The staff very lovely and the breakfast wonderful. Very close to town and the Minster so ideally located. The parking a bit squashed but off... More
