Good communication prior to our arrival. We were offered tea/coffee/biccies on arrival and made extremely welcome. Room very clean and fresh and finished to a very good standard. All usual facilities including lcd TV. Really nice breakfast room - glass conservatory. Breakfast excellent - incl bacon (2 rashers) grilled not fried, egg cooked to perfection on each morning of our... more

Simply put ... Beautiful, very clean, extremely welcoming, great breakfast, great hosts - a wonderful place to stay that's not too far from the town centre and the race course. It's in easy walking distance from these and minutes from the river. I cannot praise Turnberry House nor its owners enough - a wonderful time and we would have no... more

We stayed two nights and would highly recommend this B & B! From the moment of booking we felt a warmth from our hosts and indeed on actual arrival we found genuine hospitality from both Lesley and Roger. We were looked after like Royalty; our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and charmingly furnished. Indeed the breakfasts were of the... more

Had a lovely short Christmas break in York which was enhanced by the warmth of the welcome we received at The Turnberry House, Lesley and Roger made us feel very at home with a welcoming cup of tea on our arrival. The hotel is full of character and the room we stayed in was tastefully decorated having apparently recently been... more

I spent the weekend there a few weeks back as a 21st birthday present from my parents. The atmosphere was relaxed and homley but stylish too. I especially liked the M&S toiletries supplied in the comfortable rooms. The full english breakfast at the end was a nice way to complete a more than satisfactory stay more

My daughter and I have just returned from an excellent weekend at Turnberry House. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel at home. Lesley and Roger can't do enough for you. The whole place is immaculate but cozy. Breakfast is really tasty and varied. You are only a short bus ride or taxi into central York. We... more

Stayed for one very pleasant night here. This in itself was good, as many York b&b's only take 2-night bookings at weekends. The hosts are friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The house is spacious inside and our twin room could be comfortably adapted to accommodate a family. The furnishings were attractive. It was at the front... more
