The Ashbourne House was absolutely beautiful. Our room was small but so cute! The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and tastefully decorated. The owners were very helpful and extremely friendly. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning. The only negative part was that it was about a 15 minute walk from the city center. Although the walk was... more

We have just returned from a very enjoyable 3 night stay at Ashbourne House with our three teenaged children. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. We had two rooms, one (double) at the front of the house which was a very large room, and had obviously been recently redecorated and refurbished. The other was a double... more

Have just returned from a 2 night break at Ashbourne House. A very friendly welcome awaited us and the owners Paul and Julie were very helpful with any request we had, whether it be directions, recommendations or personal taste. If they did not know the answer they would find out and get back to us. Our accommodation was very clean... more

We recently stayed in York for a short Easter break and booked our accomadation at Ashbourne House after having read previous guests reviews on Tripadvisor. The reviews influenced our decision on where to stay and we are very pleased to say that they were all correct in their discriptions. During our stay one of us was ill and they kindly... more

We (a family of four) stayed here for a lovely two-night stay in March 2008, for my partner’s 40th birthday. The owners are very friendly and will help and advise in any way they can. Michael was also very friendly, well mannered and polite. The breakfast is excellent, plenty of choice and served in a delightful room. The breakfast really... more

We stayed here in February this year as it was our birthdays and wedding anniversary. The owners (names forgotten-sorry) had left a bottle of wine in our room which we enjoyed !! Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were excellant and set us up for the day. We were a 15 minute gentle walk into York either by the road... more

just as advertised, extremely clean, vey friendly guesthouse. The room was smaller than I would have liked, and right at the top of the house...lots of stairs; but adequate and had everything necessary for a very pleasant stay. The breakfast was excellent, very much enjoyed our chat with the delightful children of the household. The only downside was the distance... more

We stayed here for a day at the races. Good location for our purposes - short walk through the park to get there. The owners were very friendly and helpful, giving us a recomendation for 'pub grub' at The Plough in Fulford, which was so good we went back a second night and recently visited again when we were in... more

A lovely, spotlessly clean B&B with some nice original features, conveniently located for sightseeing in York city centre (a pleasant 15 minute walk or a quick bus ride away). The new owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and they serve up a mean breakfast! We enjoyed our stay very much - thank you. more
