Just returned from a weekend in York where we stayed at The Bronte B&B. Perfectly situated on a quiet street, only about 5 minutes from the Minster. A very warm welcome from owner Mick, who was very helpful with information about eateries and places to visit. We stayed in the Romantic room, which was lovely, very quiet and comfortable with... Recently had a very short but sweet stay at the Bronte. We drove up from London and arrived late but it seemed no trouble. Help with our bags was much appreciated as we have 2 children (7 and 1). Our room was beautifully decorated, very clean, had a lovely ensuite bathroom, our son had a little room adjoined with twin... More

My wife and I stayed here, along with another couple in September and were very happy with the B&B. The breakfast was great, the hosts were friendly, the rooms were comfortable. It's a bit of a walk from downtown but pleasant. More

Our second stay at the Bronte, and just as good as the first. Lovely Victorian house situated within easy walking distance of town centre. Very clean throughout. Miick the owner, is very friendly and welcoming and eager to help out with Ideas and recommendations for visits to the attractions and restaurants. Very nice touches, like free mulled wine and mince... More

A short walking distance from York Minster. You will find the Bronte, it is spotless from top to bottom. We stayed in room 6, a spatious relaxing room with a so so comfy bed I didn't want to get up. I'm glad I did as the breakfast was fabulous. Mandy and Mike are exceptional hosts, nothing is too much trouble... More

This guest house is in a great spot within working distance to the main sights in York. On a quiet street although the house is a bit creaky but this did not phase me. I stayed in the internal room and had no issues with noise what so ever. Great breakfast was served and the hosts were great. More

We really enjoyed our two night stay at this Guest House. We chose an extra big room which had a lovely bay window looking over a park. The hosts were so warm and welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. The room was spotless with lovely furniture. The location is good, with about a ten minute walk... You have a lot of choices for B & B's in York. The Bronte gives you the real thing when it comes to English hospitality in a guest house. York is a big enough town to get muddled with thinking about things to do. Mick was very helpful with ideas and suggestions. Firstly, the Bronte in a Victorian row house... More
