We booked last minute for one night, staying in the 'snug' room. It was good value, staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our vegetarian breakfast. We were able to leave our car in the car park the next day while we looked around the city which is only 5-10 minutes away. We'll stay again the next time we... More

i decided to book this for my husband as so awkward to buy presents for, read the reviews from previous ones so went with an open mind, booked bridal suite room 10 and when we walked in it was a big beautiful room with big bay window, bath infront of the tall fireplace with candles, the room was heated all... My Boyfriend and I stayed at the Holme Lea Manor for 2 nights for my birthday last November, and we were both extremely impressed with the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was everything we needed in our room for a short break. The jacuzzi bath and four poster bed were a real treat, and I think that... More

Stayed here the nights of 2nd & 3rd Feb '12, booked the bridal suite as a treat, and my what a treat it was indeed! Managed to park at the hotel, just be warned there are only 6 parking bays. We received a very warm welcome, and got the impression that nothing would be to much trouble. The room was... More

Stayed 27th and 28th, stay was excellent, was offered an alternative room as we checked in because a booking couldn't make it but the room we had was clean, spacious with a window looking into the hallway. Staff were friendly and chatty, breakfast was a good full english and alternatives were available, car park was full so I was directed... More

I stayed here with a friend during a short trip to York. We stayed in one of the main bedrooms as it was the only one left last minute, it was a gorgeous room with a lovely open tub and shower room. Very spacious and well decorated. The breakfasts were also good, although I'd have liked a few more teas... More

This 'hotel' was very positively reviewed and could/should be very special but if I'm honest it falls down on some really basic things which did take the edge off our 2-night stay. The lack of a reception area and of telephones in the bedrooms means that guests must go down to the entrance hall and press a bell for any... More

We stayed in a stunning room with a four poster bed and a lovely en-suite bathroom, both the room and bathroom were quite spacious. We enjoyed our breakfasts. The house has kept (or restored) many of it's original features eg. large fireplace in the dinging room, beautiful floor in the hallway etc. but has very modern features eg. the en-suite... More

Lovely Victorian House very tastefully decorated. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Approximately 10 minutes walk from Minster in a quiet safe area. Our ground floor room was quite small but lovely in most respects. Good free car park in hotel grounds. Brilliant quality breakfast in very nice surroundings and good service. Two small negatives (didn't spoil our short stay) which... More

On arrival at the b&b the first problem was parking, the plot is tiny and very tight, about 6 cars can get in but I was too late and had to park on the street, there was space but I wasnt sure if I was allowed to be there and when I asked neither did the lady I met on... More
