Recently stayed at Riverside Walk BnB with my daughter, special weekend for us as she had just turned eighteen (quality time etc) and had plenty of activities booked in and around York. Initially met by owner Mrs Coxs and shown, what they called "accommodation". Extremely small room with two single beds barely separated from each other, in fact a four... More

Just returned from two nights at the Riveside Walk Ges House in York and we were extremely disappointed with it. It is terribly old and dated and needs a thoroughly good refurb. Don't have Room 7 it is supposed to be a double room, it is really only big enough for a single bed. The decor is awful - painted... More

I had a tiny box single room which I didn't think was value for money. It was average and dated, cold when I came back in at night. V steep stairs, so not great for one with any disabilities. Although I had an ensuite outside my room was a loo which seemed to be shared by two other rooms so... More

Recently stayed one night at this lovely guest house where I had a cosy single room. Not much choice on the TV and the view from my room was a car park. However the service and the breakfast was superb!

I recently stayed at the Riverside Walk in York with my wife. The hotel is ideally situated for all the city centre attractions and the railway station but yet is still set in a quiet location on the banks of the river. It was ideal for us as we travelled by train and just a short walk from the station... More

First of all, we were just on the train from the village we live when my partner got a call from the Guest House, a wonderful polite gentleman asking how we were traveling as he would reserve a parking space for us, we explained we were traveling by train, he then asked what time we would arrive so everything would... My friend and I stayed here to go to my daughter's hen party in the centre of York. We had 2 single rooms. Admittedly the rooms were small but had everything you needed and were very comfortable. They were on the first floor up a narrow staircase but we were helped with our luggage. However we were greeted warmly and made... More

Very expensive for a guest house (£80) which gets you a tiny, poorly equipped and tatty room up 2 flights of narrow, steep stairs. Its also rather noisy as the Riverbank outside appears to be a thoroughfare, meeting (and courting) location for the local drunks. One to try when everywhere else is full.
