We held my mother in law's 80th birthday party at the Broomhill and it coundn't have gone more smoothly. Right from the offing when we were making a booking Bridget and her colleagues were both helpful and accommodating. On the day itself we received a warm welcome and were quickly ushered into the drawing room where a roaring fire and... more

We held our wedding reception here in July and booked all of the hotel rooms for family. We can't emphasise enough just what a fantastic choice we made with the Broomhill Hotel. The setting is beautiful, the staff are all excellent, the service outstanding - basically, we can't fault anything at all. The attention to detail was second to none... more

Warm and personal welcome. Big fire on a cold day - snow and ice. Room - dated and needing an update. Views from the room were incredible across the Northamptonshire countryside. Made more so by the winter wonderland. The food was fantastic, Sunday lunch very memorable - though the dining room chairs need reupholstering. The best breakfast in a hotel... more

The warm friendly greeting on arrival really set the mood for our fabulous stay . The setting is just fantastic and the garden is truly beautiful....Rhododendrons...Japanese and Canadian maple trees....100year old Magnolia and Handkerchief trees... gorgeous views.... We had pre-dinner drinks by a roaring log fire.....The owner told me to "Take charge of the fire, it will be your fault... more

We stayed here for 3 nights when our daughter was getting married and having the reception for 130 here. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant meals were very good as were the breakfasts. The rooms are all different. this is not a novotel or travelodge with cloned rooms. It is like staying at your posh... more

Why pay more for mediocre service? Both times we ate in the hotel restaurant ,my husband and I were underwhelmed. The staff were unobservant (intrusive when not wanted, and not to be found when desired). The "French" chef has obviously departed as the vegetables with our lunch were cooked with Flora, not butter! The steak was unremarkable, but tough enough... more

To redress the balance from the last reviewer, I found the Broomhill to be very welcoming and comfortable. Yes the furniture was old, but everything was clean and tidy. The food was excellent - a modern and imaginitive menu. We were served afternoon tea on the lawn and were given a private dining room for two of our three nights.... more

The Broomhill House looks great on the web, but in real life the rooms are no better than a one star hotel, but for 95 pounds a night!! It was the most expensive hotel we stayed during our two week England/Wales trip, and by far the worst place we stayed. The rooms we saw, and we saw just about every... more

I have been a regular business customer of the Broomhill Country House Hotel for the last eight years. The staff are always courteous and helpful, the food is superb and the atmosphere is very relaxing - a perfect place to stay when you have been travelling. In recent months, the hotel has been undergoing extensive renovation - nothing lasts for... more

Quirky little place, decent rooms - good food in the evening. Nice to watch the horses on the gallops in the next field first thing in the morning. A bit remote for business travellers perhaps but maybe a nice base for a weekend. more
