we stayed at this hotel as part of a team trip visiting heritage sites. We ate at the restaurant and the service and food were appallingly bad. The hotel was so-so and the service not up to standard. I would NOT recommend this 'hotel.' more

Stayed for 2 night for the 1400 seies rally held on adjacent forestry land. Setting in the Cheviot hills is well off the beaten track at Alwinton village. A superb base for exploring the northumberland nat park.. Building originates from 13th century and there are rooms in the earliest part of the house. We stayed as part of a small group and were made very welcome. The hotel has 10 bedrooms, a public bar and a very small restaurant. The menu included a number of homemade items and the chef was very willing to design a vegetarian... more
