This pub was a real find! The barman (landlord?) ( a Glaswegian chap) was really friendly and helpful and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. There was a group of older people in at the same time, and he was so patient when they each paid individually.
And the food! My lamb with apricots was absolutely delicious. I am addicted to creme brulee and have eaten this all over the country (and the world!) and this was in the top two I have ever tasted. The chef was a true genius and although we didn't see him, we were impressed with the polite way in which the barman addressed him - always 'please chef' etc - very professional!
The loos were nicely decorated and clean (always a good measuring tool!) and the pub interior was lovely, and there was a nice garden.
Another thing that impressed was that all the tips went to a childrens charity - and I really think they did.
