Carole and Fred give a very warm welcome and can not do enough to make your stay perfect. The additional little touches they have included make the rooms very homely and comfortable. The facilities and food are first class. For clients with mobility difficulties the Stables room is ideal with its own parking area right outside the room, a ramp... More

I booked the Coach House for the last leg of a cycle trip from Carlisle to Newcastle for myself and two friends. Our hope was to have a fairly luxury final leg and we were certainly not disappointed. As soon as we arrived we were shown into our room (hayloft). It was light, spacious and well appointed. Had we had... More

We booked three nights at the Coach House in order to explore Hadrian's Wall. Bardon Mill was an ideal location and the Coach House we found to be an excellent choice for our type of holiday. The facilities and food were first rate and our hosts, Carole and Fred, were most welcoming and helpful. The Stables Room is a very good... More

This is a lovely place to stay. We liked it because it's not like staying in a B&B where you're in someone's spare room - this is almost like a small flat, very private with good facilities. We stayed in the Hayloft, it's the upper floor of the barn in the garden area; separate but just a few yards from... More

We booked a one night stay to attend a local party, we booked via late rooms without viewing the place first. On arrival the man and wife that run the place came out to see us to our room. The room was fantastic and everything you could ask for was on hand. Breakfast was tremendous. I would highly recommend the... More

We like to stay outside of Newcastle when attending the GNR each Autumn. This spot was perfect. It'd be technically wrong to say it was a silent spot (the hum of the A69 is audible) but it is peaceful regardless. Bardon Mill is a delight, a sleepy and tiny little stop on the transpennine rail and road route. Perfect for... More

Having stayed here before, Carole offered us the chance to stay in their new self catering accommodation which they delightfully call the Snug. It is part of the main house, and is accessed via an outside staircase at the back of the house. Once inside you have your own self contained flat and as the name suggests it is 'snug'... More

Great location for hadrians wall area. The family room we had was perfect - spotlessly clean with a good en-suite shower room. There were twin beds + a bunk beds. All had lovelly bedding. the room had an area to sit along with TV. A nice touch was a draw with games such as cluedo - which we enjoyed before... More
