I have just had a short break at this lovely Georgian farmhouse B&B with my husband and friends. We were all impressed and delighted. We chose it for its proximity to Hadrian's Wall but it is also within striking distance of the coast and the other attractions of Northumbria. This trully is a 'luxury' B&B. The rooms were large and the beds comfy. The attention to detail was amazing - all the little extras you would expect in a 5* hotel and some. Angela and Ian couldn't do enough for us, advising us on good walks, making us tea and biscuits (short bread with raspberries) when we stayed in the cosy guest drawing room on a wet afternoon. No telly - which in general I think is goodness but when the weather was dreadful I have to say I missed it. We dined in two nights out of the three we were there and that was a delightful experience. The house is furnished in Victorian style, which, although I wouldn't choose for my own home, makes a charming and warm ambience. more
