Best thing about this pub is its convenience to one of the more scenic stretches of Hadrian's Wall. Another good thing is the array of well kept real ale in the bar. Rooms are adequate. The Twice Brewed Inn had a warm, pub-ish atmosphere. We thoroughly appreciated the proximity of the inn to Hadrian's Wall, the object of our visit. That convenience was balanced by the somewhat basic furnishings of our room. Either way, the people ensured that we enjoyed our stay. more

Starting with the pros the management was very friendly and the food was decent. Its also close to Hadrians Wall. The negatives are that our room was unclean and had no tv. Was also extremely cold and was bitten to death by mosquitos even with the closed window. The shared facilities were okay and clean when i stayed there. more

I spent a night at the Twice Brewed in late June of 2008. It was a perfect location for a traveller without a vehicle, as Hadrian's Wall was only a 15-20 minute walk away and a Roman fort and museum was only a 25-30 minute walk in the other direction. My "premium" Room was expensive, smelled of drains, had been decorated by a maniac fond of pink and purple, and furnished with broken items from a car boot sale.
