We've just stayed for three nights here and I couldn't really fault it in anyway. The location was fantastic and despite the snow we were able to go on several beautiful walks directly from the inn. Although we didn't have views of the countryside directly from the room, this wasn't a concern as we spent most of the days out... more

I came up to the Old Hall Inn for a birthday party held in the pub and the Minstrels Gallery - an absolutely incredible room. The meal was fantastic, the rooms faultless and the blues band sensational...they certainly provided great entertainement for the whole pub (locals and visitors alike) during the evening. Sadly I was only there for one evening... more

We loved the Old Hall so much that we decided to move to Chinley after 8 years in London. We stayed when we were house hunting. The rooms were way beyond normal B&B standard & the food excellent. We continue to eat and drink here on a regular basis. The food's wonderful. It's a dog-friendly, child-friendly pub with a superb... more

Stayed at beginning of August for two nights. My partner and I were really looking forward to the visit after viewing the Old Hall Inn Website, which gives the impression that the inn is some sort of a country retreat. Although the Inn is located in the countryside, the building itself hides and countryside views. The website showed pictures of... more

This is a difficult comment to respond to, except that we believe the pictures on the website (none of which are trick photography) to represent an accurate picture of the Hall and the surrounding area. A good place to judge the level of 'built up' is by looking at Google Maps. Whitehough can be seen clearly as a small Hamlet...

Clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms, lovely bar area serving high quality local ale, friendly proprietors, beautiful historic property, amazing surroundings, delicious breakfast. Only criticism...bar area toilets could do with an upgrade. more

Thank you for your comments - we have been aware of the need to update the bar toilets for a while now as part of our final renovations to the Inn. This work has now been completed and both the ladies and gents have undergone full renovation to a high standard.

I have visited the peak district on many occassions but i have never stayed anywhere quite like this. From the moment we parked up at the Old Hall Inn we knew we had chosen the perfect place to stay for the weekend. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the interior was grand (particularly in the minstrel gallery) and the en-suite bedroom... more

I booked two nights at the Old Hall Inn hoping for a quiet weekend away with my partner. Only a 40 minute drive from Manchester, we found that the location was stunning and it was ideal for countryside walks. The staff were very helpful in recomending the routes that we embarked upon. The restaurant had a great ambience and the... more

We booked our room a week before our stay, we had emails back to tell us that it was all confirmed and booked. Travelled up there to find out they'd double booked our room. As it tuns out there was a gentleman that booked the same room but his stay was for the week rather than our booking of one... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Old Hall Inn. The location is great for exploring the Peak District, yet close to Manchester for airport/train access. The hostess was friendly and accomodating. Our room was a good size but could have used a comfortable side chair to relax in - one could only watch television from either a small straight... more

The Tourist trade is very important to us and we are constantly striving to improve our services. We regret that you found the establishment only adequate, however we are appreciative of all feedback. Since your stay in June the Old Hall has been refurbished, and all rooms now have comfy chairs. Many Thanks again.
