Kicking myself as I write that I didn't take the time to visit Trip Advisor before travelling to Britannia Hotel in Nottingham with my husband last week but like some of the other reviewers we were taken in by the website pictures which showed a bright looking, airy modern hotel. Because the Brittania is a chain we also foolishly assumed... more

Did not live up to the promise. It was once a modern, hip hotel. Although it is still good value and is in a decent location, it is overdue a serious cleaning. Carpets shabby, bathroom regrouting, furniture upholstery stained. more

We visit Nottingham regularly to see our family and have stanyed in many 'low cost' hotels princed roughly the same as this! Well if honest the room itself was OK - bed, bathroom, coffee etc, TV - the noise from outside was to be desired! The main issue was at 4.30am in the morning when my husband and I were... more

Booked in by work otherwise I'd have left. Reception staff were efficient but once we got to the room it all went wrong. Bathroom had broken tiles, the floor was lifting, the shower rose was missing the centre filter, handrail was hanging and how someone got pubic hairs so high up was a mystery. The bedroom was so small that... more

Firstly the hotel card reader was not working, after 4 attempts... First night... We stayed on the 7th floor, had a great view towards the east of the city.. The bed was lumpy and bumpy and the bed springs were coming through.. The bath tub was cracked, shower leaked and door stiff...... second night..... We got back to the room... more

Following previous reviews on this hotel, I was expecting a complete shambles. How wrong I was. We arrived early evening on 6 December and our keys were ready for us at reception. Our room was spotless and very large, with superking size bed, two large comfy chairs, TV and well stocked hospitality tray. The evening meal and breakfast were buffet... more

Unfortunately my 2 children and i had booked four nights in this hotel...we CANNOT recomend it. Firstly Parking is a major problem as you are limited to a car park which cost 9.50 per visit. On arrival at reception the atmosphere is frosty to say the least. The manager is abrupt and unhelpfull . We asked her for an additional... more

First room had hair on the bed, and worse. Second room was little better. Lots of black mold around the bath, tile grout, etc. Bathroom mirror was spotless, but almost every tile had some mark or stain etc. Decor is fairly modern but somewhat worn. No problem with that but the place is just DIRTY! If you're a bloke on... more

Location is great, but the actual hotel is very dated especially the rooms. Not the best of staff aswell. Other hotels across the road have been considerably better for me in the past. more
