Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel corridors were dated and a touch shabby. Old carpets that smell old. The king size room. Is exceptionally small. There is no plug by the mirror. Badly thought out room design. Sink not draining properly, and dead flys coming out if the tap strongly suggest water issues. We stayed one night and i couldn’t wait to get out of the claustrophobic room. The cleaning staff though do clean the room and the bathroom was clean. So hats off where its due. Sheets though had ingrained stains in. Hotel reception staff friendly. Didnt eat breakfast as the strong smell of vinegar in the food area put me off eating anything. Its a city centre hotel but please for £140+ a night i excepted so much more when compared to other hotels.

Hotel's Favourite
Truth is, I really like this hotel and stay there often when working in Nottingham. Our last two nights of a multi-city staycation were in a cosy suite the friendly reception team were able to arrange (for a small additional charge). Reception has improved dramatically since Myrella became supervisor and the team now go even further to help. The recent refurbishment work is all but complete and certainly the hotel is more its old self; the pandemic's impact is waining too which is good, this hotel deserves to be thriving again. Breakfast were the only meals we had and both mornings didn't disappoint. It was really nice to see Denise again and to meet Evie(?) too... she looked after us very well too. I can't recommend this hotel enough and the vibrant city of Nottingham as well.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the city, Excellent Staff at the reception and the luggage man is a gem. Booked 4 rooms presidential suite, interconnected double double rooms they were very spacious and clean. It was my son’s bday and gave us a complementary Prosecco for all of us. Breakfast was outstanding. Overall they looked after us! We would definitely stay again!

Not only were we shown to a room with barely any space around the bed, but we were informed that the swimming pool, the highlight of any hotel stay for me, would be £10 per use, a cost that I was not informed of in the advertising or when booking. Given the very high tariff charged by this hotel, I feel justified in saying save your money and stay at The Premier Inn.

Dear ChilliJelly, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and we're very sorry you were unhappy. The wet area access charge has become a necessity I'm afraid. The economics of smaller leisure facilities no longer work and the choice is either invest and charge or close them down. Its noticeable that the new hotels being built over the last few years don't have pools and I believe we will see many closing in the months ahead. I do hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards

I'm at the hotel now! Cons: I'm staying for an extended period and the room is small; not much room to walk around the bed. Not much storage for clothes if your stay is beyond the weekend - just one rail. As I worked nights showering in the afternoon I noticed the water runs cooler than earlier in the morning. I don't enjoy not having a toilet brush, which seems to be omitted as standard. I did have to use the towel rail at the back of the shower to dry my washed 'smalls' which led to Housekeeping leaving clean towels on the floor of the shower or on top of the toilet (!) which were replaced after complaints, as were the ones that were covered in someone else's hair. The carpet isn't vacuumed daily as standard or even every other day. You have to request that, I was told. Housekeeping left me a bath mat as a hand towel in error too, but they really do seem over worked - maybe they're short staffed? They've always been polite and do a good job when they clean my room. Pros: Complimentary in-room Wifi (with a code from reception) Bed is king size which is lovely and it's comfy with lots of pillows but the compromise is a smaller living space The black out curtains are brilliantly effective The breakfasts are fantastic! Lots of choice for meat eaters and vegetarian/plant-based, full English fry ups to healthier options, plus a breakfast chef preparing eggs and omelettes to order. Gym/Swimming Pool/ Spa are great! Location is right in the heart of Nottingham with every possible cuisine and budget catered for. It's also situated right next to the Victoria Shopping Centre (which has a post office in the WHSmith), John Lewis, £ shops, Boots plus everything you need is all minutes walk away. Parking is literally across the road at Trinity car park. It's secure, well lit/ cameras/ 24 hour security on duty, so I feel safe even when returning from work in the early hours. Overall, I'd stay again though not so long in such a small room. Better for short stays It's perfectly located with pretty much everything you need within minutes on foot It can be a noisy hotel on Saturday but it's not rowdy .. people on weekends away really. All fun.

Requested a room near lift to avoid stairs. First room required up and down 2 sets of stairs. Replacement room had 1 set of steps. Room was billed as a double but was more akin to a single as I could not even walk round the bed and there was nowhere to stack my suitcase which rested on top of the bed during my 2 night stay . Asked to speak to a manager but no-one approached me. As a Diamond member as well as a returning guest I would have thought it would have been good customer relations to expect an apology. I completed the questionnaire on leaving, ticked the box requesting follow-up but silence to date. Breakfast was good though.

I stayed two nights in this hotel. The location of the hotel is great, at the city centre with easy access to rail and bus stations. There are plenty of shopping centres and restaurants around and this area of the city centre is really lively on Friday night. The hotel itself is newly renovated, despite the building is showing some age. The room was new and clean with high quality to Hilton standard. Free tea and coffee making facilities and locker as usual from Hilton. However, the sound insulation was really poor and I could constantly hear people walking along the corridor, banging their doors and talking in the room next to mine (i.e. only 4 stars given). The reception was friendly and allowed me to check in early before 12pm as my room was ready. The complimentary breakfast served was great and the buffet selection was plentiful, with hot and cold foods. The fresh juices were refreshing and nice. There are also swimming pool, sauna and gym on the basement, if you would like to do some exercises during your stay. Overall, a good hotel in Nottingham with perfect location in the city centre. Definitely would come back again in future.

The hotel was in a very great location for the city centre and was clean and nice. however the hotel didn't mention when we booked that the restaurant and bar would not be available to hotel guests due to holding private Christmas parties all weekend. which was a bit of disappointment when you pay a lot of money to stay at this hotel. also the receptionist staff when we arrive seemed quite ignorant toward us and not much help. however other staff members such as the concierge and the house keeper were much more easier people to talk to and was more than happy to help with any questions in regards to this the receptionist lady when leaving was lovely. The most amazing customer service was sienna at city bliss who was such a lovely polite young lady who made us feel so much at ease. Highley recommend her for any spa treatment's, not over priced and amazing customer service 5 star's to her. Overall nice experience but need more welcoming staff on reception when checking in we all have bad days but the man who checked us in didn't make us feel welcome and need to let costumers know before booking that restaurant and bar would not be assemble for paying guests on certain dates.

Dear betsyjos, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent stay with us. I am sorry to hear you found the receptionist to be ignorant, this is certainly not usual of the feedback we receive of our reception team however I will be feeding this back to the head of department to ensure further training takes place so the same problem does not arise again. I do hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel again in the future and restore your faith in us. Kind Regards
