The hotel itself is in magnificent grounds, and the historic junior suite was large and comfortable. However, the website advertises the hotel as a spa with a hotel attached - what it doesn't say is that it is basically a retreat for the elderly with a daily entertainment program. The spa facilities were excellent, and we had a nice afternoon... more

I took my parents to Thoresby Hall, for my fathers 60th birthday present and we had a great time. Thoresby Hall itself is a lovely stately home, which has a "new" building attached ,which is very cleverly done and does'nt spoil the old house at all. The hotel is located in Thoresby Park, on the edge of the Sherwood Forrest,... more

We stayed in one of the historic rooms, it was huge and very quiet. We had a spa break which was very enjoyable - especially the mud! The staff were superb, very polite and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. The activities were great, did some archery, cycling, aqua fun, dance lessons. Entertainment was good too, the 'Thoresby Players'... more

This 4 day break was booked by my husband for my birthday, and it was perfect. Beautiful hotel, excellent service and very good food. One felt so priviliged to be staying amidst such grand, historical surroundings. Can quite see why this is Warner's flagship hotel. Can't fault the courtesy and friendliness of most of the staff we came into contact... more

Stayed in a standard room at the hotel from 26th Oct 09. The room was spotless, and was well cleaned. The bars were a bit expensive, and the service and staff attitude in the pavillion bar left a great deal to be desired. Other staff brilliant. The food in the main restaurant was adequate, if light on portions. That aside,... more

The three restaraunts were all ok although the Blue room was brilliant and the best by a long way, Great food well presented. But beware, there is a young waiter with butter fingers who... more

The hotel is very impressive, very well organised and friendly. On arrival you are offered a charge card and this makes life much easier, your credit card is swiped and you get their card in return. From then on all drinks paid for on the card, and also any purchases from shop or supplement restaurants. A statement is pushed under... more
