No parking spaces- had been taken up by the day drinkers. The local clientel where roughs as sand paper. Certainly NOT desirable! Carpet in bedroom needed a clean (got out of shower and walked into room and got 'bits' stuck to mt feet) GROSS! Dodgy obvious stain on chair! (minging) Razor left in shower from previous people Noise from party... more

We stayed at this hotel as we were attending a wedding in Henley. It was good value for money but I would not recommend it if you're looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing to stay - we stayed on a Saturday night and didn't get in until 1am but the bar downstairs was still very noisy and didn't close until... more

Been before 4 times. Wetherspoon Lodge deal 3 nights for 2. So fair value for these days. Breakfasts are good value. Meals as expected when we took them. This time the noise of the disco downstairs did intrude on our rest unlike previous trips - but they do tell you when you book up. Reception staff helpful and smiling. Replenished... more

This is a Wetherspoon's Lodge and has been redecorated and refitted recently. The room we had was on the second floor and the lift only went to the first floor so if you have trouble with stairs you need to request a first floor room. The room and bathroom were clean and a good size. Breakfast is not included but... more

Stayed over with partner whilst visiting friends in area. Staff were all friendly and the first evening we had dinner a few drinks also which was very good. The service was efficient and the wine recommended to us was certainly to our satisfaction. Had a good nights sleep and a long hot shower before heading down for a coffee and... more

Stayed one night on business. No problem with noise, Thursday night. Nice clean room. Had dinner and breakfast which were both far superior to other, more expensive hotels I have stayed in. However,In the morning there was no hot water, the boiler had expired. On checking out I was given a profuse apology and a FULL refund without asking. I... more

We stayed here for 1 night when going out for a boat trip on the River Thames. We knew that underneath the hotel is a bar that opens til the early hours so expected it to be noisy. However, we were fortunate to get a room towards the back of the building (so not overlooking the road) and I went... more

Ate an evening meal in this place as had been to previous wetherspoons and have ok expereince. Food took ages to arrive despite it being quiet and my other halfs steak was not cooked to his request - was also not edible in the main as was tough as old boots! Upon reflection he should have sent it back but... more

When we arrived at the Catherine Wheel we were not greeted by the receptionist who didn't even bother to look up from the computer screen. When I said hello and that we had a reservation, she merely pushed out her lower lip and shrugged. She was without doubt the surliest, most miserable wretch I've ever encountered in the service industry.... more

Stayed here in November 2006 as a treat for my birthday from girlfriend. Room was a great size, very clean and suited requirements, managed to get a parking space on site and thoroughly enjoyed hotel and bar and surrounding areas albeit British November weather. Staff were great and evenings on comfy settees getting drunk were wonderful. breakfast for my birthday... more
