There is no elevator at The Buttery so all guests have to carry up their luggage two flights. I found that the only real drawback to the guest house. Great central location in Oxford. Parking's a slight issue but if you're staying for a couple of days and don't need your car the out of town park and ride is perfect! Room clean and nice. Breakfast is downstairs in the cafe shop, which is characterful. more

The Buttery consists of several rooms over a coffee shop & bakery. It is located in the short pedestrian segment of Oxford's Broad Street, which is about as central as it gets. Fantastic central location. We had a twin room facing Balliol College. Room was spotless and very pleasant. Beds and bedding first-class. Would have appreciated a clock and or clock/radio.
