It was particularly pleasant to find a place where the promised warm welcome was genuinely warm, and the care and attention to personal requirements similarly honestly in evidence, not just,(as is more often than not the case these days)some sort of pointless mission statement drawn up to attract custom and then immediately quietly forgotten or even outrageously ignored. Thus, as a result of this, plus the fact that our room was attractive and well serviced, our stay was a particularly happy occasion and we look forward to returning. Before I forget, the Chef is a serious professional: I cannot remember enjoying Duck more than in the Peacock restaurant, and the Lamb was also similarly unusually good.
