It's not so much the service or location that is the problem with this B & B, it's the paper-thin walls and floors. I heard every noise made by the bloke in the room upstairs, including every time he went to the loo!, and I heard every snore from the guy in the room next door, at least I think... more

I wasn't expecting a lot--just basic, clean accommodations, wifi, a desk, and private bath close to St. Antony's. The location was pretty good--a little far to walk from the bus station with (even rolling) luggage but right on a bus line. I was within fifteen minutes (walking) from a shopping area, University locations and maybe a bit longer walk from... more

We had been warned that Oxford was over proced - and no more so than at Parklands This is not 4 star. - a reasonalbe three I'd say. Painted chip paper like its going out of fashion. Liked - nice welcome by Roy or Rob but he was not there at any other time. Location - good for a short... more

We have stayed in most of the central Oxford big name and expensive hotels in the past (visiting our kids at the University). This was far better value for money. Parklands is perfect and way beyond our expectations and we will be back every time we go to Oxford from now on. OK its not the Ritz but it is... more

From a room perspective, this was by far the best "old-style" UK B&B I've ever been in. They have just refurbished and it all smelled like paint. We were given a discount without asking, apparently because we got the last room (we booked about 5 days ahead) so I'd been worried, but the room was double glazed & silent although... more

This was our last overnight after a 2 week tour through England, Wales and Scotland. We wanted to finish off in "relative" luxury and chose a more expensive hotel. Although it is a beautiful hotel in a nice location, with clean and tidy rooms, we did not feel that we stayed in greater luxury than B&B's with much lower rates.... more

I stayed in this hotel on two business trips of two nights in July and august of this year. On the first trip the shower had not been cleaned and when I spoke to the receptionist I felt that the problem was not taken seriously, although eventually she did offer the key to another bathroom near my room. When I... more

This hotel was chosen for me as it is one of the closest hotels to the centre of town which has free parking. Which is a great bonus. It took me 20 mins to walk (briskly) in to town but there are buses which frequently go in. I have stayed here on business twice. The first time I had a... more

I liked the amenities of a hotel combined with the personal service of a B & B. The location was convenient. The room and bed was very comfortable and the price was very good. The cleanliness of the room was excellent. I had a very enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this property. The staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. more

Would not stay here again - more like a B&B than a hotel. Our room was a reasonable size with a very small ensuite. No bath but two large spiders in the shower , hot water kept running out. Decor was unimaginative and did not take advantage of the historic building. Room was on top floor (reached by steep stairs)... more
