We stayed overnight in the River Hotel as part of last minute weekend away. The Hotel is very close to the station and is extremely convenient for those arriving by rail. After traveling overnight and staying up the next day, the comfortable beds were a wonderful welcome. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great and had a wonderful view of the river. The location wasn't the best for us, but Oxford is a very walkable city so it didn't really matter to us.

Very nice hotel near the center of Oxford. We had a very nice stay here for 2 days in june 2011 and visited Oxford from the Hotel. It is only a few minutes walking from the center of the town. We will visit it again!

This hotel is very cosy, you can feel like at your grandmother's house. The River hotel is oldfashioned, but because of that you can feel real british atmosphere. We slept very well. Beds are very soft. The hotel is clean and staff are helpful. Very nice to look at the river during breakfast.

Biggest asset is the free parking and a nice full English breakfast. Location was good. Lovely river walk at the side of the hotel along the Thames. This hotel is in dire need of a renovation as the rooms are stuck in the '60's or maybe the '50? Terrible wall paper, old bathroom and old carpets make the family bedroom... More
