A very clean, pleasant hotel, with a home-like atmosphere. I stayed in one of the double rooms (there were no single ones available, as the hotel was fully booked). It was a large and beautifully furnished room, combining antique-style furniture with a modern and sparkling shower room. The free internet in the room can be very useful, especially if the... more

Stayed at the Burlington based on other reviews seen of the establishment. Good location and comfortable rooms, with parking which is always a bonus. Room design a bit quirky/out of step with the building, but perfectly adequate. Was advised a re-furbish is imminent, which will address any inperfections (the shower was in need of a freshen up). Dissapointed with the... more

Book here only if you can be totally assured that A.Your children will not get sick B. Your parent will not die C. You are 100% sure that nothing will happen to interfere with your trip This manager is totally without any flexibility in his reservations. Thanks for your comments. I am sorry you feel this way. Hotels, in general (not just Burlington House), have what might seem like a harsh cancellation policy - but without something to protect the hotels interest, people take advantage. Firstly I would like to add the background to this to ensure a fair view of what's happened gets across to...

My husband and I were here for a few days last month while on holiday in Europe. We are from Brazil and have some friends living in Oxford. And when we asked them about a place to stay they said we should look at Burlington house. We went on the web site and booked a room. When we got there,... more

I stayed in this lovely B&B for a week-end with my husband. It is located in Summertown, a pleasant part of Cambridge which is very green and quiet. We walked into town the first morning which took us about 20-25 minutes. We used the bus afterwards which goes regularly. We booked the kingsize room. The bed was very comfortable, but... more

This is an excellent place to stay if visiting Oxford. Really easy to get into the City Centre by public transport, so leave the car in the hotel car park! Room was comfortable and the breakfast first rate. The manager is extremely helpful and his recommendations on restauarants were spot on. more

I always go through Trip Advisor first for all my accommodation needs. But it was through reading Lonely Planet that made me stumble upon Burlington House; a quaint, just a little too far, yet a charming little gem in Oxford. Of course I then discovered it is highly rated on this site. Which was a plus! I emailed first and... more

We stayed at the Burlington for four nights in April 2009. Due to the Hotel being full we stayed in two rooms: the first night was Room 2 (on the second (top) floor). This was a double room and was compact. There was sufficient room to move around but not spacious. Room 7 (three nights) was on the first floor.... more

The quote for a double ensuite room was received in the afternoon for 90 pounds in the afternoon. Replied with my credit card information to confirm the reservation at night, but received an e-mail reply saying the room is no longer available. Instead, my option is a kind sized double room for 99 pounds. I was truly disappointed about this.... more

Thanks for your comments. I'm sorry that you feel that our reservation system is poor. We try to accommodate all customer requests but we are a relatively small hotel with a limited amount of rooms. As you can appreciate we have a high volume of interest in our popular double rooms and they sell out very quickly. Whilst I appreciate...
