Nothing Dickensian about this hotel, other than the name. Our room was a good size and the en suite facilites were also spacious. Sunnily decorated with comfortable beds. There is a convenient and frequent bus service into central Oxford, and the hotel is easily reached from the ring road. Good parade of shops nearby. The cooked breakfast is standard, but... more

Beautiful B&B with gorgeous garden. Excellent breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent value. I was in a single room and it was much larger than what I'm used to seeing in Britain. Free wi-fi was a much-used perk. Easy and frequent bus ride to city centre. I was attending an event at Oxford Brookes University, and would highly recommend this... more

Nothing special, just OK bed and breakfast. Arrived at 10 pm (as previously notified) and just given a key. The room was musty but the concierge had disappeared so we had to make the best of it. The road was very noisy all night, they could at least use blinds to deaden the sound. Breakfast was above average but I... more

I stayed a couple of days before using one of the hospitals nearby. It was a good clean place and i could tell the staff enjoyed working here. The room was a bit outdated with typical flora bedding and furnishings but how much time do you want to spend in the room? The ensuite was small but fine. It's fairly... more

Good value B and B. It was a brisk 30 mins walk from the city or a short and affordable bus or cab ride away. Super room, good size etc; ample parking and a breakfast that hit the mark. Normally British B and Bs are not good value but this was a great exception. more

We returned to Pickwicks at the end of the year & were delighted to discover that this place hadnt lost any of its charm or warmth (we visited on our first visit to Oxford back in 2005) Staying here is just like being in the comfort of your very own home. We left feeling so relaxed & refreshed that it... more

We stayed at Pickwicks for a long weekend and have to say that we just loved it. The room was both elegant and cosy, breakfast excellent and the best service we have experienced for a long time. Despite it being September the garden was magificent - they could charge for admission to it alone! Pickwicks is a simple hop away... more

We visited Pickwicks on our return from France where we stayed in some great B&Bs. The problem with Pickwicks is that although is was extremely clean and provided us with a good breakfast, it is typical of so many English B&Bs and needs to lose the outdated curtains, bedspreads and plastic flowers. Could be lovely with a little updating. more

Quite far away from city centre. The place is ok, but I booked a single ensuite room, and they offered me a double room for the same price. Once there, the room was not ensuite. Althought in the booking e-mails everything was clear, they tried to convince me that it had been my fault. I felt totally deceived. more
