my husband & I have just spent a week at this b&b. It was a good choice - 10 mins walk from city & bus stop outside with a pub a few doors away. The room was very comfortable & we slept very well. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. The proprietor & staff were... More

Despite friendliness and precious free parking space, this is a rather odd hybrid, neither B&B nor hotel. The rooms are small and quite basic, no lounge or even a reception area. The price was very high during Easter holidays - as much as a similar London hotel or more. The breakfast was very quick and unexciting. Everything felt like a... More

This B&B is a 10 minute walk to the town centre; it has car-parking and is easy to find. Immediate impression in the hallway is that it is in need of redecoration and updating. We stayed in room 5, which had a decent and comfortable double bed. The room had dark brown carpet that hadn't been hoovered ahead of our... More

We booked Newton house as it was cheaper than others and within walking distance to the city. We arrived early and went to see if it would be ok to leave the car in the car park until our room was ready. The lady (polish I think) not understanding what we intended went to find if the room was ready!... More

We had some special requests (a very late check in, specific furniture in the room) and the hosts were very gracious and accommodating. Other reviews complain about the noise, however we were in a room with a window overlooking the back and it was very quiet. The only noise we heard was through the door when people were in the... our winter stay in uk has seen cold damp weather but brightened up by a cosy guest house and joys of oxford. Just a short walk(10 mins) to city centre and providing exactly what we wanted a chance to explore on foot the spires of Oxford. Superb breakfast, comfortable if basic bedroom and adequate ensuite facilities.Whilst certainly not luxury the... More

A fantastic little B&B that was welcoming, clean and lived up to all our expectations. The fried breakfast and selection of juices, jams and options really was unexpected. Infinitely better than a lot of the "chain" hotels who charge an arm and a leg for the equivalent. It is also cooked to order rather than being left to sunbathe under... More

Just needed a place to stop overnight near the centre of Oxford without paying silly money, and this ticked all the boxes. Friendly staff and a good location (about 15 mins walk from the centre) at a reasonable price. I did find the decor a little on the shabby side and there was some noise at night from the road,... I admit I can't fully explain why I will not return here, but I will try to provide some insight to help you decide the value of this venue. The room was charming and spacious, but I had nowhere to put my suitcase. The bathroom was clean and big enough, but had nowhere to put shampoo or razor other than... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst my OH attended a conference and I explored Oxford. We chose the Newton Guest House as it was close to the city centre, and appeared to be one of the cheaper options for bed and breakfast in Oxford. First impressions: The B&B is on a very (very, very) noisy main road into Oxford.... More
