Until recently, you could rely on Travelodges being basic but clean. However, this was not the case here, where there were pieces of biscuit under the bed. The rooms were very spartan with a bed and not much else. The furniture was worn out and threadbare, there were no pictures on the wall and there were only 4 channels on... more

Chose to stay here as was attending a wedding at 'Le Manoir', and this was the cheapest and nearest hotel. The location is perfect for a hotel of this type-right next to an ASDA, harvester, and the M40. If what you want is a cheap place to stay one night, that is clean (ish), and with a comfortable bed then... more

Arrived about 6.30 friendly and helpful check in staff, car park quite full. The furnishings in the room were faded and very worn, a hole in the chair and threadbare cover on the sofa bed, the mattress was awful and soft, you could feel the springs through, the mattress sagged and needed replacing! The bath tiles were black and mouldy and... more

Having booked our room three weeks in advance we only payed nineteen pounds for a family room per night. It was basic but had everything you need for a nights stay, The staff were very helpful the room was clean, en-suite, double bed, an extra bed-settee, tea and coffee making facilities and as much as you required and very comfortable.... more

The hotel is located in an ideal spot right next to an Adsa and a Harvester. This was ideal as the hotel only offered a breakfast to go option and no dinner facility. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was clean simple and comfortable everything that Travelodge are known for offering. The bed... more

I stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding in a nearby village. The location was perfect for the purpose intended, and there was a bed, the check out time of 12pm was great and that's about it. I know Travelodges are all about being basic to save costs but I didn't really expect it to be so stripped... more

My sister and I booked a family room at the Travelodge so that my Mum could also stay in the same room with us. The Travelodges are always of a consistant standard although the room was not set up as a family room so working out where the mattresses from the pull out bed were meant to go was a... more

A hidden location just off the M40 perfect for an overnight stop-off. We used this place as a stopover on a drive from Birmingham to Gatwick airport so that we were not getting up at the crack of dawn. It is not easy too easy to find but the staff are friendly and the rooms clean. A ground floor room... more

Great location with restaurant pub next door, and Asda opposite. Close to M40 and Oxford. I arrived late and had a very friendly welcome and helpful staff. Room basic but very clean. Everything I needed for an overnight stay near Oxford. more

I stay a lot at budget hotels on business trips, and have found the Travelodge chain getting more expensive and dropping standards all the time. I stayed at the Wheatley as a last resort, and regretted it. I was exepcting to arrive late and wanted to confirm someone would be there to let me in, but rang and rang the... more
