Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean and pleasant, especially the courtyard,a stay marred only by a stain on the duvet and a bathroom door which did not close. Breakfast good and tasty but having to ask for everything, although understandable in view of the virus, prompts a desire to suggest more attention should be paid to asking punters if they have everthing they need.

During last year I stayed at the Blenheim Buttery several times; the last time was in November whilst working in Oxfordshire. I have stayed in all of the rooms; the guest house is small and the rooms very pleasant and have all the basic needs catered for. There is always plenty of hot water and the towels are a good size and soft. The beds are comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Each room has tea and coffee facilities, if you are there during the day the tea rooms are downstairs with a small outdoor courtyard where you can sit and relax. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you are happy and have anything you need. The breakfast is substantial and freshly cooked. if you let them know in advance you have allergies they can cater for these. My food was always worked out so I had no problems with my diet and nothing was too much trouble. There was a good choice of food and fresh fruit etc as well. Im looking forward to staying again this year. Just a note for any one not very good with steps; all the rooms are above the tea rooms on the ground floor and the stair way is quite steep but short; if you ask them they will help take your bags upstairs. I was worried about the parking on the high street but i was assured this is not a problem and they will help explain where you can park. If arriving late evening after the tea rooms have closed its not a problem and they provide a number for you to call on arrival and they come to meet and greet you. When I visit I book bed and breakfast.

We stopped off for coffee on the way to the Cotwolds. We popped in again on the way back on a cold foggy day. Superb bookshop nearby! Excellent late breakfast. Bacon, scrambled egg, hash brown, really good meaty sausage, baked beans etc Outstanding as was wife's ham omelette. Good coffee too. Friendly as well. Excellent value mine was £7.95

we were looking for somewhere on Monday for a snack/ lunch, we saw the buttery inn and decided to go in. The tea rooms are in a good location and the menu is good. I had an afternoon tea and my husband chose ham and eggs off the main menu. The food was as expected and satisfying. The service however was odd, during the visit we had interaction with three of the waiting on staff, of which the gentlemen appeared to be more senior - non of these staff were perceived to have natural customer service - therefore not encouraging return visits.

Really lovely place. Have been coming for years. It's old fashioned and traditional with fresh cakes waiting for you. Nice open fire. A good choice after a walk round the palace. The staff have always been accommodating. I have enjoyed every visit here.

The location of this guesthouse is great. It is literally round the corner from Blenheim palace and surrounded by very good restaurants and bars. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean. It is also very quiet and the traditional English breakfast is excellent. However, it is very, very dated, circa 1980s, for example our bed had a peach coloured valance and there was a dusty, old wicker wreath with three peach roses (artificial of course) and a huge bow on the wall. Everything was faded and appeared second hand. The bathroom was so small that I've sat next to people on planes who would not fit into it and the towel rail fell off the wall whenever you touched it. It was clean however with only a tiny amount of mold around the shower. The hall and stairs smell damp and are very narrow and steep. The decor in the dining room is dreadful and the old, none too clean teddies sitting at tables add nothing to the experience but the question why? Other than the cooked breakfast items the breakfast is poor with very little choice of cereal and no choice of yoghurt or fruit juice. A local told me that it he place is for sale which is probably why the owners seem to have given up trying. The staff were friendly however and it was half the price of other hotels.

this is a cosy guest house located very close to the palace's gates. we only stayed one night in the deluxe double room. the room is big and comfortable, very clean but as others have mentioned, it could do with a general update: it feels rather tired in places, namely carpets, furniture and the bathroom. note that the deluxe room only has a shower, this didn't bother us at all but others might feel differently. the breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about.

Attended function at Palace, this Guest House was a perfect location virtually by the entrance Gate, Beds were fresh, clean & comfortable. Very good Breakfast, I would say it was good value for this area, However it could really do with updating as the decor was old & tired,

Friendly, warm, good breakfast. Needs updating and doesn't seem to be anyone around at night. Got a smell of drains in the bathroom. Located right near the palace and on the central high street. I'd stay again but would look elsewhere first.
