My fiancee and I stayed really fancied a short break somewhere in the counrty, nearish a small town and an attraction. I've been to blenheim palace before, which was nice, so decided on a night at the Duke of Marlborough based on some of the reviews I'd read. We were really happy, and feel like we've had a real break.... more

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago - I'd booked having seen good reviews online. It is a good mile out of the village of Woodstock on a busy main road, and next door to a petrol station. The accommodation is also in a separate building to the pub and is more 'motel' in style, so that your room... more

Stayed here with husband for 1 night. Can't praise the place enough! Room lovely and clean. Decent tv and lovely toiletries (a girl does like these things). Staff very friendly and approachable. Ate dinner in lounge area - fantastic - even got an extra mint choccie with our coffee for one! Breakfast substantial, nice touch with the home-made jam. Surrounding... more

Went to Oxford to a friends party and stayed here just for 1 night. It was well located to all areas around Oxford. It is set out like an American style motel with the doors outside not in corridors. Nice big bed and room was a great size. Bathroom was good but shower was not really powerful! The staff were... more

I stayed at this hotel for the 3 days of the Grand Prix weekend and found it to be excellent. In particular the food was of a very high standard and was enjoyed by everyone that visited. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had clearly been recently refurbished and the decor was a stylish mix of traditional... more

I used this motel for 2 weeks because of the location. Holiday Inn was full. I had a satisfactory experience although I felt that the motel is quite expensive for a B&B. The rooms are spacious and comfortable although some of the bathroom fixtures are cheap. The owner/manager works really hard and is probably in need of a break himself... more

Stayed ay the Duke of Marlborough for four nights. It is a great base for Oxford, Blenheim, Stow and Woodstock. Blenheim is certainly well worth a visit and allow a full day if the weather is fine. There is a bus stop outside the pub/hotel so it is very easy to leave the car behind when visiting Oxford and to... more

My husband and I booked this hotel as it was the closest one with any availibility to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, and we were miles away! But just about everyone we met staying at the hotel were also F1 fans and came from all over the country, which was fun. I had viewed the hotels web-site and was... more

We spent 3 nights at The Duke of Marlborough in January and found the bed and breakfast accommodation to be excellent. The pub is an 18th Century Inn a mile outside of Woodstock (you need your own transport) with recently built motel style accommodation at the back of the Inn. Our family of four had two rooms, a double and... more

I guess I could have worked this out, but was actually surprised that this hotel/B&B isn't actually in Woodstock - it's about 2 miles outside, so any thoughts of dining elsewhere without driving won't work. It looked unpromising on arrival - a pub with some rooms attached. It took a while to get anyone to do the receptionist bit, but... more
