We stayed here for one night having visited Blenheim in the afternoon and intending to resume the experience the next morning before onward travel. It was like finding an oasis of calm. The staff were so friendly, as was the ever present owner, who told me that he likes to offer guests what he would wish for himself. A commendable... More

... the bed! The Duke of Marlborough, just to the north of Woodstock, proved a real find. We stayed in an 'executive double room' and at a cost of £100 for a room of suite like proportions this provided excellent value and would probably have cost fifty to a hundred pounds more just ten miles down the road in Oxford.... Just returned from an excellent weekend at the Marlborough. I am a coeliac and that can cause a few menu issues! Derek at the Marlborough had a choice that I have never had the privilege of experiencing before! Nothing was too much trouble and the food was of excellent quality, the staff were very polite and helpful despite being extremely... More

We stayed at the Duke of Marlborough for 2 nights with friends and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. The rooms were more than adequate and the food can only be described as excellent. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The owner made himself available at all times and was... More

Arriving late with a starving teenager was not a problem for the lovely staff at the Duke of Marlborough. They very kindly prepared a meal and as we are in the restaurant business we know what a pain this is! The owner is delightful and the service culture is wonderful. The rooms are basic but comfortable and are very good... More

The Duke of Marlborough served us very well for our 3 night stay in the area. Rooms were fine, as was the food and drink, some really nice guest beers. Staff were all very welcoming. Derek was a real star. The staff are obviously led by him in that they are a very amicable and welcoming group of people. A... More

During our 5-night stay we were agreeably looked on as family. The courteous friendliness of staff was invariable at all times. Service is of such high quality that our needs were always met with great care, and were often anticipated. The charisma and warmth of this fine establishment stem from the owner-manager, a man charming in manner and effective in... More

We booked the 'Duke' for a visit to Oxfordshire. After a long trip from Pembrokeshire we arrived to a warm welcome. We had our first evening meal at the pub and were very pleased with the food and the service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was just the right proportions, the sausage one of the... More

From the time we first arrived nothing was too much trouble for the extremely hard-working staff. They really are a selling point of this establishment- the room was fine although we learnt it was next in line for refurbishment- that said, the beds were very comfortable and we heard no traffic noise during our 2 night stay despite being on... We stayed 1 night at The Duke of Marlborough which is a quaint country pub with motel type rooms attached as we were visiting Blenheim Palace and wanted somewhere close by to stay. Our room was warm, clean and a good size with a double (very comfy) and single bed but it could do with a coat of paint. That... More
