I stopped here with my wife for one night only, the hotel was lovely, clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and we got a lovely view over the city. We would stop here again.

This hotel is very easily reached (in 3 or 4 Minutes on a level route) from Reading Railway Station. Despite being in the busy town, the bedroom was very quiet, reasonably spacious, with good tea/coffee making facilities, easy chairs, a desk and flat-screen television with a good range of UK Freeview channels. Some slight niggles: (1) the en-suite toilet was... More

No frills hotel (apart from a small, shallow swimming small) with a lot of small annoyances. * The rooms are hot with very little ventilation and no air conditioning. * The toilet in the room doesn't have a sink to wash your hands so you have to walk round to shower room. * The hotel insist on charging a deposit... Friendly staff. We had a problem with the key cards not working but this was fixed by maintenance almost immediately. Executive suite was nice and we got free wifi (which I think should be available for all rooms anyway). We didn't use the spa facilities so couldn't comment on this. For an executive suite the room was a tad smaller... More

This was our second stay at the Novotel Reading. Lovely hotel and great location right in the town centre - just walk out the door and you're straight into the shops and restaurants. The Reading museum with a full size replica of the Bayeux Tapestry is well worth a visit, and it's free. The hotel car park is very small,... More

Spent two weeks at this hotel. Located right in the town center and everything in Reading is easily accessible. The staff is very courteous but the hotel as such is very expensive. All the amenities right from Wi-Fi to laundry are expensive. They need to improve the quality of rooms for what they charge. The menu in breakfast is same... More

I had an effective and welcoming check-in; staff are multilingual. My room had a queen-sized bed and was compact with most things I needed. Air-con not effective and Wi-Fi free, but I couldn't get it till the morning, so too variable. I asked for a robe to go to the leisure centre but this was not possible, which was odd.... More
