This is a pretty good country hotel, the only drawback was the sloping ceiling in the bedroom(banged my head!)
The wooden rails on the balcony were rotten (at foot level) & need to be repaired.
Would visit again

The room was very clean and cosy in spite of the sub zero temperatures outside. All the accomodation seems to front directly onto the courtyard but we were right next door to Reception so not too far to go in the snow. The evening meal was excellent. The only adverse comment I have to make is the the room rate...

Thank you for your kind comments following your recent stay.
Regarding breakfast, bookings made on-line do include a full English breakfast, however with the highly discounted vouchers bought through a 3rd party, only continental breakfast is included which they should have specified. I apologise for the over site

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel through laterooms.com. This was done over the phone, and the guy at laterooms actually called the hotel while I was on the phone. The rooms were booked seemingly without problem. The next morning I received an e-mail from the hotel saying they did not have the rooms available, but had a double and...

My wife and I stayed here for one night last year and enjoyed the experience so much that we booked it for our Anniversary treat last weekend. Excellent value for a double room with breakfast, and what a great breakfast! The room was faultless, modern, well set out and inluded tea and coffee making facilities and a digital LCD tv...

My partner and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends nearby. For the price we were paying for a double room with breakfast I'd not set my expectations too high but was very pleasantly surprised.
The room was spotless, well appointed and with tea and coffee making facilities. Very comfortable bed. Nice en-suite with large shower. Even though...

Olde worlde pub, with good real ales and good quality food. The room itself was a bit dated, but comfortable for the one night.
When next in the area would stay again.

visit November 11th 2011.Highly recommended. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly. Our room was small but clean and warm. The bar was like stepping back in time to the 1940's(not that I was around then) but just like the country pubs on Miss Marple. No wide screen football dominating the bar, plush leather chairs, log fire, gentle music, just...

Could not fault the bedroom, must have been recently refurbished. All tastfully decorated.
The bar area is one of the nicest we have been to being warm with a log fire and freindly atmosphere.
We did not dine in the restaurant but the breakfast was good.
The only slight warning we would give is like any hotels that do weddings,...
