Stayed at Holiday Inn Sheffield two nights. We paid the first night with Priority points (Executive Room) and booked the second night as advance purchase (standard room). Built in around 1865, this grand station hotel would have been splendid in its heyday, albeit noisy before the Great Central railway closed in 1966. Sadly, the drive for ever more profit has led to the rooms being sub-divided to squeeze more guests in. Some of the rooms have ended up too small or an awkward shape as a consequence.... more
