I don't know where to start here. Firstly the room was £50 for a night (on a weekend which should be cheaper) - so more than a Premier Travel Inn, which actually have very nice rooms/bathroom. First to hit me was stunningly bad decor, which obviously hasn't been updated for decades. The room was tiny - and... no bathroom! for that price, far enough out of the city centre you would expect one. The landing outside the bedroom smelt as if something had died there, and the bedroom wasn't much better.
The bathroom was halfway down the stairs (nice and private), and the showerhead over the bath was about 4' high - the reason being that there was a big box shape jutting out along the length of the bath so you physically couldn't stand up in the shower!
Breakfast was another story! We went downstairs to be offered a choice of cooked breakfast, vegetarian or continental. We were told to help ourselves to cereal while we waited. The cooked breakfast, despite the gristly...
