Four of us had dinner on a Saturday night at the end of October. As it is autumn, a chance to sit outside in the lovely well laid out grounds above the river could not really be taken. No worry, as the welcome inside the light and airy dining room made up for the damp outside. The food was exceptional... more

I didn't even get past the phonecall. I left two messages, two days in a row. Four days later, no one has even bothered to return my call and so I've made different plans. No one I spoke to when I called other places to make different accommodation arrangments was surprised that Mr Underhill's hadn't returned my call. The arrogance... more

I finally managed to book Mr Underhill's, two months ago after several failed attempts. My friend and I had a weekend away booked in Ludlow built around our visit to Mr Underhills. At 4.15 on the Saturday we were due to eat - the restaurant owner phone us to advise there would be no choice of menu just brill as... more

We arrived late morning and the owners could not have been more accommodating. They supervised the parking of our car and recommended an excellent cafe for our lunch. Although our room was small it was comfortable and met all our needs. We expected the highlight of our stay to be the food and we were not disappointed. Nine first class... more

You only really go to Ludlow for the food, and certainly this was the place for that. The food was great, and I can't agree with the reviewer above who complained about the breakfast (order the home made brioche!!). The room was lovely (although small, and the bathroom was very small and windowless). The place itself is right on the... more

Didn't get past the phonecall, made a booking and they didn't take my £50 deposit, rang twice more and they still hadn't so I rang to cancel as I'd booked something else. Cue a rude scottish man ringing me back having a go at me for cancelling a non existent booking. Also insisted I book a room if I wanted... more

I would like to be able to leave a review for a restaurant but am unable to as Mr Underhill’s didn’t return my call. I was greeted by a rather odd phone message reassuring me that if I didn’t hear back it would be because they couldn’t get through but despite the fact that I repeated my phone number twice,... more

We were met on arrival by a very friendly member of the Mr Underhill's team, who took great pains to reassure us we weren't late for dinner while showing us to our room and explaining the format of the evening. The room, although on the small side, is stylishly set out and very clean. The courtyard where pre-dinner drinks were... more

We had the best room in the hotel which is called the 'shed' this is both spacious and very well designed with the most amazing view. We found the staff could be a little surly at times and the meal times are quite restrictive, however the food is excellent and they have some real gems on the wine list. more

I would give this place 3.5/5. Stayed in the Shed (a junior suite on its own above the large garage) with my wife for her 40th birthday treat. Overall we had a great time (for obvious reasons!) also location good, food v.good, room lovely esp with electric shutters looking over the weir - operated from the bed. Ludlow is also... more
