We'd been wanting to go for dinner here for some time and finally got round to it and decided to stay the night as well, so we could enjoy a relaxing little break. The rooms are great and large, with lovely views over the weir, winter is a great time to go as the leaves are off the trees so... More

I attended Mr Underhills last night,Saturday 23rd March. A reservation was not made but they had a couple of cancelations so I got in ! I was greeted by a very attentive young lady who tried to get me a table and she succeeded. Result ! I was actually only going to view the place and to eat was a... More

OK, so it was my mistake. I genuinely thought that the cost of £370 for one night included food for two people. It only included breakfast (which, incidentally, is underwhelming and decidedly average). Let's get the positives out of the way first. The tasting menu, at £67.50, was excellent and we thought good value. Having one vegetarian on the table... More

What can I say, I will keep it short. Will not be returning to Mr underhills, very disappointed! 1) Managers attitude stinks 2) Not Michelin star standard- better food elsewhere in Ludlow! 3) cat! 4) bed linen smells 5) pricey

I was treated to a night's stay and a meal for a 'big' birthday having wanted to try it out since I fell in love with Ludlow some years ago. It definitely lived up to expectations though it would be hard to justify a second stay as the room prices are beyond our range however we do hope to eat... More

Having booked a table here for birthday we was some what surprised to get a snooty call from the owner asking where was on the Thursday?? this surprised us as the table wasnt booked till the next night which was a Saturday. We explained to the owner that we had not booked a Thursday and we was blatantly told that... More

Very bullish attitude by female front of house and not in keeping with the Michelin standard. Food excellent but the personality of the "front of house" spoilt what could have been a memorable evening. For over £200 for a meal for two We would have expected more civility.

This “restaurant with rooms” won the Hardens award for the best all round restaurant in the UK last year. We stayed for one night in “the shed” – a green oak structured building in the grounds which provides a large suite above the garage. The shed is poorly named, it is an impressive room with super king sized bed, exposed... More

The rooms are pleasant and very well equipped with nice touches and a homely feel. In contrast to other reviews, we did not find them small (certainly not large). One problem is the noise of other showers which will disturb your lie-in. Any fault of that nature merely emphasises that these are £150 rooms and certainly not £250pn rooms. I... More
