This is the second time I have stayed at this Inn about seven years apart. The first time with the good lady and our two children, this time with my wife and my elderly mother. It is a really friendly place, with excellent rooms (only five I believe) and a tremendous bar / restaurant. I had the mixed grill, excellent!!... More

A lovely old pub, with open fires, very welcoming on a very cold day. We have been coming to this pub for a reasonably priced, good quality, freshly cooked meal, on and off for the last 22 years. On this occasion however the meal was very mediocre, i had a lunchtime special which was very poor. I don't think we... More

My partner and I often go to The Wheatsheaf for an evening meal. The service is always friendly and helfpul, the atmosphere warm and cosy, and the food generous and tasty. Would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional pub with great food at reasonable prices. Will be going for a Sunday lunch next as it's been highly recommended by... More

Stayed for one night as a couple. Old lovely building. Had dinner and breakfast here both lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in winter so having a wine in front of the fire in the pub made our stay that much nicer. We had carol singers come in at dinner and the inn owner gave them... More

We stayed here for the weekend for our anniversary. The staff were very helpful when booking a d checking in, and we got Room 3, the pink room, with views across St John Street, onto Lower Broad Street. The location is perfect, set into the old gateway to the town, and there is metered parking right outside which was very... More

Stayed here for the medieval festival in November. We had some problems with the original booking as a member of staff had allowed us to book for just one night when they usually insist on two over the fayre. The landlady called us sometime afterwards to cancel our booking, which by this time left us nowhere else to stay. She... More

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf for two days at the beginning of November. I was looking for the ideal pub B&B for a brief stay in Ludlow - and I may have found it! Rooms were small but comfortable - very comfy bed and an excellent shower in the en suite. Evening meal was very nice and breakfast excellent. Good... More

My wife and I spent a weekend in this lovely old pub. Like many historic buildings the rooms are quite small, and there are lots of creaks as people move around the building but the facilities were good, the room well decorated and the staff friendly, helpful and pleasant. The bar is snug with a nice open fire and they... More

We did not stay at the Wheatsheaf but we had an evening meal following a recommendation. We were in a party of six and all agreed that their starters and main courses were good. Desserts were a lot to be desired as the belgian waffle was microwaved and solid! The Baileys Cheesecake was more like a mousse rather than a... More
