This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. It is shabby, tired and looks as though it hasn't had any money spent on it for years. The headboards were dirty, carpets stained and rooms were not cleaned properly. The only good thing was that the bed linen was clean! more

We stayed along with two other couples for (thankfully) just one night and we all experienced the same problems. Uncomfortable to the point of being painful beds, dingy decor, unreliable and very noisey plumbing, noisey neighbours (ie no soundproofing) and a general feeling of things being "unclean". Funnily enough we declined the offer to pay the additional charge to have... more

If you were driving past this hotel you would carry on going!! Unfortunately if you are booking with only internet details it sounds lovely but it isn't!! It is a very tired, shabby but I have to say fairly clean hotel. I was told that an elderly widow owns it and rents it out and it is obvious that no-one... more

The hotel is dingy throughout, carpets in particular. The bathroom looked quite nice but the shower only stayed hot long enough for 1 of us to use. The breakfast room was cold & the breakfast itself was limp & greasy. When we complained about an alarm sysyem sounding a fault all night we were told "yes, it does that sometimes". After... more

What a shambles of a hotel. A group of friends stayed there as part of a golfing weekend 7 - 9th Sept. and from the moment we got there it was a shambles. The rooms are so old and dirty it was a joke, the en-suite could barely be called so and the shower was a waste of time. The... more

Yes it does smell musty on the ground floor near reception which can be expected if the entire street was under water a few years ago, but there is nothing wrong with the accommodation and the food is excellent and staff are friendly. more

Shower faulty - cold showers only. Toilet seat broken. Old part of the building very shabby (bare carpets etc) + musty smell. No double / secondary glazing so noise from nearby main road kept us up all night. Adjacent room had the loudest cistern tank I have ever heard. It got used 2 or 3 times during the night, which... more
