We attended a wedding reception at Drapers Hall on 20/04/2013. The ceremony took place at Shrewsbury castle and then all the guests made the short walk to Drapers Hall. Drapers proved to be a beautiful and atmospheric venue with stunning period features and charm. We were greeted with Pimms and a selection of fruits in champagne flutes and served a... More

True this building has plenty of character. We were in the orange room which is comfortable but here was what we found. Parking is a nightmare the hotel only has two spaces at £12 a day nine of which seemed to be available. Parking outside is limited to one hour no return within two hours, the room was warm, clean... We stayed for two nights in the Teale suite, which is at the top of the hotel. It has it's own entrance ,but you can also get to it through the hotel. The hotel is really old and quirky with beautiful original feautures. The fireplaces are tremendous. The americans would be over the moon here,as it is just what English... More

We stayed on a Monday night in February with snow on the ground and I had a wrong picture of possibly a draughty period building. The rooms were toasty warm and well cared for. We stayed in the Lime Suite and plan to stay again. Friendly staff. I am 6ft2in tall and the Lime Suite's bed was just long enough... More

We stayed in the Lime Suite for 2 nights, beautifully furnished with a mixture of old and new furnishings which worked well. Excellent, friendly and helpfull staff, nothing was too much trouble. We dined in the hall on the 2nd night which is absoluting stunning. The dinning hall is kept in the period of the hotel, with a roaring log... More

We stayed in the Orange room at Drapers Hall for a weekend break in November for a bit of a pre Christmas treat. The hotel is really lovely. Beautifully furnished throughout. We opted not to dine in the restaurant because the menu was a bit too fussy for our tastes.. there was very little that appealed to us and it... More

Second time around for our visit, if anything better than the first. Stayed in the Orange Room which was a delight and very quirky. Facilities in rooms excellent as was the service and friendship of management and all of the staff. Dined in the Restuarant and was not dissapointed with either food or service. Would recommend hotel and Shrewsbury to... More
