We could just tell you that we have 5 en-suite rooms, do evening meals and are licensed, but that would mean missing out on the microbrewery in the garden, Ozy the napkin collecting Labrador and the Mayor of Casterbridge breakfasts. The Quantock Hills are an undiscovered gem, ideal for walking, mountain biking and sightseeing, and we're on their doorstep. Come and see what we're all about. more » « less

We have just spent one night at the Old Cider House - sadly proved to be too short a stay ! Ian and Lynnes hospitality is superb as is the accomodation and the food was out of this world. Anyone there must try their 'Taste of Somerset' feast on a saturday night . Will go back again for sure more

This is a fantastic B&B, in a friendly village amidst lovely countryside ( and not far from the coast either! ). Ian and Lynn do everything they can to make your stay an enjoyable one and can provide lots of information on the local area. This was our third visit and we have booked to go again later in the... more

In many ways more like a small hotel than a guest house. Lynne and Ian were perfect hosts. The home cooked food (optional) is excellent, and there is a wide choice of wines. The owners home brew is also a very original touch. The rooms are very comfortable, well furnished, and the quality breakfasts were the perfect start to the... more

My wife and I wanted a long weekend away without the kids and chose The Old Cider house so we could enjoy some walking and biking in the Quantocks. Thanks for Lynne and Ian (and Oly) as it was just what we were looking for. We had a fantastic stay and hope to visit again especially to enjoy the breakfasts... more

Looking for a treat for Valentines day, I picked the Cider House, as it seemed special yet friendly. We were not disappointed. The hosts were superb, food was outstanding yet homely. No airs and graces, just good old fashioned welcome. Not to mention Good Beer! more

This was the second time I had stayed at this Guesthouse - the first time being in December 2006 for my 'Sisters Weekend'. This time I was walking The Coleridge Way with a girlfriend and Nether Stowey is the starting point. The Walk goes for 36 miles ending in Porlock, Somerset. The welcome we received from the proprietors, Ian and... more

I have stayed at the Old Cider House several times while visiting the area on business, as a female on my own I was made to feel very welcome and safe. Early breakfasts and wifi are a real bonus! I have reccomeded the place to others as it has all the facilities I needed but with the added bonus of... more

Organised by a group of friends (9 of us altogether) we "took over" for a long weekend. Ian and Lynne could not have been more helpful or friendly and in spite of the weather (24 hours non-stop rain) we had a wonderful time. Very highly recommended! You may be lucky enough to meet Furmity - prepare to fall in love! more

Winter in London is horrible, so a delight to escape to Somerset, and stay with charming Ian and Lynne. Ever the hospitable hosts (and not forgetting Ozy the friendly Black Lab), our cobwebs were soon blown away with the hearty walks in the surrounding countryside that Ian and Lynne sorted out for us, with charming pubs to stop at for... more
