The hotel is filthy, mouldy, shabby, full of cobwebs and smelly. Health and Safety would have a field day with loose wires in the Bathroom, the toilet was disgustingly dirty and the toilet seat was hanging off. The shower curtain was mouldy. The bottom of the Bath had a massive chip in. The tiles were mouldy. There was peeling paint.... more

Do not stay at this hotel - it was a huge disapointment! The hotel staff spoke very little english, the room was filthy dirty with blue mould thick enough to write your name in on the batroom wall. The beds were dirty and damp, the floor was filthy and the curtains had mould all over them. The only good thing... more

The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of many of the sights in Bath. However, this is more a two star hotel, providing the barest of services - bed and bath - than a three star. The bed is horrible, you can feel every coil in the mattress. The shower/bath was full of mould. The walls are paper... more

We spent two nights here, and I wish I'd remembered to look on tripadvisor before I booked it! George's has a wonderful location in the centre of Bath (yes, it's a bit noisy but what do you expect in a city centre?) and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the standard of maintenance and cleaning was poor: a curtain was practically... more

Great location, friendly service, running water (just). That's the positives out of the way. Badly in need of a facelift, the wallpaper was coming away from the walls, the window was cracked and we couldn't open it as the mechanism was broken, and there was mould in the bathroom and the bedroom. Full English breakfast, suitable for vegetarians there was... more

Location great, right in the city centre. However, this is about all that this hotel offers. Room was shabby, and the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. I read other TripAdvisor reviews before going, so was prepared for the noise, which was as bad as had been described (nightclub, general background noise from Saturday night revellers... more

My friend and I spend 2 nights here in August 08. Was a walk in, and we took it because of the price £65/night for a twin room. The hotel had no lift, and we were given the top floor (2nd floor I think). Very cramped stairs, and we had 20kg bags to carry. So if you need a free... more

If the price were 40 pounds down, my review could've been positive. Otherwise, the rooms are standard B&B quality, and the noise from the disco all other reviews have mentioned is still there and is going full strength. Also, if you have a car, there's no parking at the hotel itself, and you need to park in a commercial parking... more

The location of the George Hotel is excellent - as far as sightseeing is concerned, very conveniently located for the Roman Baths, etc. Unfortunately it is not so conveniently located close to Bath's most popular 24 hour cab office and it’s vocal late night customers. So a room at the front is to be avoided unless equipped with earplugs. There... more
