Four of us from the Midwest USA stayed at this hotel, mostly because of it's fantastic location. We walked everywhere we wanted to be in Bathe! The Roman Ruins and Crescent circle were all easy reach. Hotel was being renovated, but our room was large, clean, well decorated, and the staff was very, very helpful! So glad it is being... more

This hotel is in the middle of renovation and even though I was in an older part, the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location in beautiful Bath, only problem was awkward and expensive car parking. more

We live near Bath anyway, and have often walked past The Francis Hotel. We decided to do a local weekend break in Bath (and have a few bevvies in the evening!). The Francis is ideally located in the center of Bath. I don't think you can get any closer. There are numerous restaurants around the corner, and the theatre is... more

I stayed here for a long weekend with my husband. I emailed the hotel prior to arriving to say it was our wedding anniversary and requested a room on the 1st floor. They told me there was usually an extra charge for these rooms but on arrivial had upgraded us free of charge. The room clean and contemporary in style... more

We stayed here at the beginning of August for the weekend, and found it to be a fantastic base to explore Bath. We were on a hen weekend, and were very well looking after by the hotel. The only minor complaint would be 1 of our twin rooms was changed for 2 doubles, due to the hotel overbooking, but they... more

I requested one of the refurbished rooms on the first floor, for my boyfriends birthday. Parking was £10 per day but really easy and the hotel were happy for you to leave the car a couple of hours after checkout. Checkin was quick, friendly and they wished my boyfriend happy birthday, nice personal touch. Really nice big clean room, nice... more

Bath is not short of pretensious Hotels with aromatherapy bath oils, absurd flower arrangements, floam flecked food towers and ghastly dressed-up provincial snobbery. How wonderful to find a truly old fashioned Hotel with creaking floorboards, faded chintz, theatrical photographs, spotless hygiene, excellent service and a wiff of gin n jags. It has had a rather wierd Sanderson type makeover of... more

We stayed at the Francis Hotel for 2 nights recently, for 'The Taste of Bath'. We had a modern contemporary room on the first floor. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is ideally located for all the main attractions of Bath. We enjoyed the dinner at the restaurant on the first night more

When we booked, this was one of the very few places which was both central and also did not have a min. 2 night stay at week-ends. It was not cheap, but accommodation in Bath is generally a bit expensive. Having read previous reviews, we requested one of the recently modernised rooms (see photos). The bed was big with crisp... more

Don't stay here! We booked 2 nights and left after the first night. The room floor sloped about 100mm - including the bed. That combined with the low ceiling (I couldnt lift my arms above my head) made me feel ill. To top it off - we scratched all night (the room was infested with some sort of mite) -... more
