My wife and I booked the Bailbrook Lodge for a shopping trip to Bath after taking our son back to University. Situated a 10 minute bus ride to the town, we left the car at the hotel while we shopped (quite convenient). We found the hotel as part of a promotion in one of the national newspapers, which was a... more

Shortly after we arrived we were called home as our daughter had become ill. We had not even taken our case into our room. We accepted that we would lose our deposit but they charged the full rate including breakfast which of course we had not taken. They quoted policy but clearly had no sense of discretion or compassion -... more

We booked for two nights to visit the Thermae Spa and do some shopping. Leaving the car there and catching the bus worked well as bus stops nearby and convenient. However, only just booked in and within five mins had to complain. Double room so small we couldn't lay our case down to open, door hanging off the old rickety... more

My wife and I were given a week end away at the Bailbrook lodge as a wedding gift. We had no idea what to expect, so were delighted to have stayed in such a welcoming, luxurious hotel. All the staff were very friendly and gave the impression that they were always there to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it... more

Had I seen the other reviews before I booked for 2 nights, then I would certainly have booked another hotel, but I saw them afterwards and so went with some trepidation. We were, however, pleasantly surprised. On arrival we were met by Rachel, the Manager, who was extremely pleasant and showed us to our room. Although this was a small... more

Disappointing. We visited this hotel as part of a 'spa' offer package. The brochure said that the hotel was 1 mile from the spa when in fact it was a 45 minute walk and well over a mile. The staff were unfriendly, bed uncomfortable and heating noisy all night. This was particularly disappointing as the hotel was rated as 'four... more

We went to the Bailbrook Lodge for our anniversary. It sells itself as a 4 star luxurious hotel run by a family. Although it looks quaint from the outside (in spite of it being located just by one of the biggest roundabouts in the UK!) it was unmodernised and dirty inside. The bathrooms were more like cupboards with a tiny... more

Without a doubt, the Bailbrook Lodge is the worst place I have ever stayed. The place is dirty, run down, and very over priced. We originally planned to stay for three nights, but we checked-out after one night. The furniture in our room belonged in the trash, and the floor was more comfortable than the bed we tried to sleep... more

Please note that Bailbrook Lodge should be listed as a B&B only and not what they say they are. The place is rundown, the showers are dirty and there are no bath. The central heating also does not work. The staff in particular are extremely rude, unpolite, aggressive and slapdash. For the price that they expect clients to pay they... more
