upon arrival we liked the look of the exterior of the hotel, what upset us was the fact that we had specifically asked for an early check-in, we were informed that as long as we were tyhere after 11am that would be ok. When we arrived at 11:30 we were turned away and told to return at 2pm. Overall the... more

After spending some time browsing the hotel/spa packages available to me in the Bath area, I finally plumped for this one, and I'm very glad I did! I booked a four-poster room for 2 nights, which included 2 breakfasts, 2 afternoon teas, and 2x 2-hour pool sessions at the Thermae Spa with towels and slippers (something that would cost you... more

Disappointed with the overall experience. Staff only gave info if asked and then they were quite vague. Room was dusty. and the three dead wasps that wer on the stairs on arrival were still there on departure Shower was like a drizzle, not good if you needed to actually wash. Ordered a twin and was given an extra large bed... more

I agree with other reviewers in that this hotel is expensive for what it is. We needed one nights accommodation close to family nearby in Batheaston on Saturday night so for that reason this hotel suited us well. However the room was quite cramped and old fashioned with the washbasin in the bedroom. Useful to have an iron & ironing... more

On the whole the hotel wasn't bad the staff were polite and helpful, the breakfast room was very pleasant with plenty of choice as well as full English if required. Our room was very small but clean and had a nice view. However, I think £240 for two nights bed and breakfast is a bit steep for a hotel which... more

We stayed for two nights at this hotel recently. Our first impression was that this is a lovely, old country house. The steps leading up to the main entrance had no handrail, which would make life difficult for anyone with any impairment. The reception office was immediately facing the front door, and we were speedily checked in. Our room, which... more

We had decided to go to Bath, stay the night and check out the Roman Thermae the next day. We had no booking, and had a great deal of difficulty finding a hotel as it was late in the afternoon when we arrived. The traffic was terrible, and we had almost given up on our plan, when we were on... more

Only stayed one night at this delightful hotel in April 2009. Found it from their roadside sign as I was driving around Bath looking for a hotel for the night. You enter up a long driveway to a very elegant Georgian House which is the hotel. The hotel is on a main road but set back and I didn’t notice... more

We recently stayed at this hotel in a double with en-suite bathroom. We found it very comfortable and clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the breakfasts were excellent. The only downside was the bathroom which was clean but rather tired looking, also the shower was quite small. We would stay there again. more

Summary - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Location - dead easy to find. It may look like it's on a busy main road when you google map it but it is set well back and very peaceful. Lovely garden, lovely looking building and very typical for this area which was nice. It's not really within walking distance of Bath unless you are really... more
