I read a ton of bad reviews of Pulteney House before my trip, and was extremely nervous upon my arrival. However, I soon found out that those bad reviews were dead wrong. I was looking for an inexpensive crash space within walking distance of the train station, and Pulteney Hotel fit the bill nicely. I booked it from the Tourist Info Centre in town. Well I can't agree with the "Fawlty Towers" comments from last year. I had a very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay and would definitely consider returning again. The Pulteney is conveniently located with beautiful grounds and lovely furnishings. It's kept very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time at this place. Great location, wonderful gardens that we could enjoy, and no problems with parking our car. We were met most warmly and were helped with our luggage to our room.
