We arrived in Bath, without booking accommodation, instead we went straight to the Tourist Information Centre who searched for accommodation within our budget and booked it direct for us. This extra service took cost £3 extra, but certainly removes any hassle from calling around ourselves. We paid £65 per room/ per night, double bed, en-suite, breakfast included, and free parking in front.
Location-wise, it's a tiring 20min uphill walk from Bath City Centre. There are 4 bus routes at the bottom of the road, but these were irregular and stopped at 11pm. A taxi ride cost around £5.
The room itself was clean and tidy - it was nice to see white bed sheets - most hotels prefer multi-coloured, crazy patterned sheets to hide the dirt! There were extra blankets in the cupboard for when it got cold, and a lovely view from the windows of the Wiltshire countryside.
