As we pulled into the Old Mill Hotel car park we were faced by a block of rooms that could be best described as Portakabins Imagine my surprise when we were told by the receptionist we were staying in the " Lodge " - the " Lodge" is the arrangement of stacked Portakabins We had travelled, and arrived reasonably late... more

Living locally we often frequent The Waterwheel Restaurant at the Old Mill Hotel for a relaxing evening out with friends. The Management and staff are always most welcoming and friendly, the food is exceptional with a variety of choices, reasonably priced (with no hidden extras) real value for money. The wine list is second to none, and wine is always... more

My wife and I considered ourselves fortunate that we came across this hotel during a search of Bath hotels on the Internet. We were there for the tail end of the Jane Austen festival in late September. Our accommodations were very clean and nice, the meals and service were very good and the staff were more than helpful. Another plus... more

Do not go to the restaurant! Previously, We had both visited the Old Mill in October of 2007 to enquire about hiring out the bar as a potential wedding party venue. Instantly, we were made to feel awkward for asking and told we would there was nobody available to help with our query. It’s hard to put into words, but... more

This hotel is living in the dark ages. It needs a serious revamp. the green wallpaper in the hallway is faded, and ripped in places, and you can see all the damp patches really clearly. The ceiling leaked on the stairs over night, and was quite a huge health hazard. I was glad to see that once housekeeping had been... more

I would like to respond to the reviewer who stayed with us recently . I can confirm as I have highlighted in previous reviews that we have been extremely busy all through the summer and in to the Autumn this year . This has prevented us from being able to refurbish the bedroom corridor without causing serious disruption to our...

Fantastic setting. Very peaceful and serene hotel with very comfortable rooms and excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Make sure you stay in the main building as the rooms in the lodge are quite small. Lovely river bank walks and take a trip on the river bus to Bath. Good food and wine. Great for a small conference. Don't... more

My Husband and I have just returned from a weekend break at this hotel. All we can say is terrible. Everything from the decor to the service we received was appalling. The room was small and had other guests in the form of spiders (quite big ones) and the bathroom was tiny. Cleaning the hotel seems to have been forgotten... more

In response to the reviewer. The guests came down to the restaurant at the allotted time . I agree tthe table was not ready as we were using it asa relay rather than leave the guests totally isolated in the top section of the raestaurant on their own . My restaurant supervisor gave them the menus and read them the...

A trip back in time, very 1960's and sadly in need of investment. Not value for money. You could have played squash with our poached eggs. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the situation delightful.. Glad we stayed only one night. more

In response to the reviewer The Hotel public areas were only redecorated 2 years ago . the exterior of the lodge was painted in the last 3 months . Our Area outside the restaurant was painted around the same time . The hotel was sold to a new owner in September 2007 Since the turn of the year we have...

If you don't mind staying in a dirty hotel love flies and spider's then this could be the place for you!! Having looked at the web site this hotel seemed to tick all the boxes we couldn't have been more wrong. Before we had even booked in we were asked if we would be dining there that evening when we... more

In respect to this review . I telephoned the lady in question who indicated to me that her partner had a fear of spiders and that is why they did not stay at the hotel. the fact that I had to contact them on the very next day goes without saying. They left the hotel without notice and were not...
