We spent a night here hoping for a relaxing break before Christmas. We deliberately chose a B&B graded by Visit Britain, hoping it would assure us of a certain standard of accommodation. Unfortunately we didn't find this at Astor House. The room, although large, was crowded with 3 beds, the television was very high above an old, tatty wardrobe, the... more

On arrival we were a little surprised to find a note pinned to the front door with instructions on how to let ourselves in, we only saw the owners on our leaving which suited us. The place itself is very beautiful, the building is splendid and the gardens wonderful. The area is very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was very... more

This was a good hotel, however it is a fair way from the centre of Bath so it is really made for people who have a car since its a good walk up and down a hill for 10mins from the rail & bus. My room was nice, small point that the blinds didn't close and that the kettle looked... more

We (family of 4 with teenagers) stayed here for one night. The room was spacious enough but the ensuite was showing its age. We found it to be comfy and pleasant with a good breakfast. It is quite a walk to Bath we preferred to walk than take the car and pay the high price for parking. more

From the moment I rang the Astor House I felt welcomed and we were provided with early check-in arrangement. The house has a warm and homely atmosphere and we felt relaxed when moving around the communal areas. The proprietor was polite and friendly and the room we stayed in (Room 2) was very clean and presentable. We would not hesitate... more

This accomodation was perfect for us (group of 7 friends) and reasonably priced for the location. We took over the top floor and rooms were all individually decorated, clean and comfortable. Some had views of the town centre including the Cresent etc which was lovely. Staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was perfect! 15-20 mins slow walk into town... more

Me and my husband (newly wed that same day) booked the B&B for our wedding night as we were on a very low budget and had read positive reviews, sadly it was not as described! The room was decorated in the style and probably in the 1970's with everything really decrepid and old. The bathroom was damp and had a... more

Arrived having been recommended by another hotel and was very pleasantly greeted by the owner. The room was very tastefully furnished as was the rest of the house very much in keepng with the period it was built in. The breakfast was excellent and very speedily served. There was no difficulty parking and the centre of Bath only a few... more

Excellent B&B about a 15 minute walk from the center of Bath. Nicely decorated accommodations. Very clean and comfortable. Ample breakfast cooked to order. Friendly staff/family gave us great information for our travels. This was our 11-year old daughter's favorite stop out of 30 days of travel as she loved the room with the charming dormers and gingham bed linens.... more
