This is the type of place that although you want to shout from the roof tops about how wonderful it is, you also want to keep it to your self! But having just returned from a fantastic 2 nights with Lucy and JC they throughly deserve all the praise they can get for their hospitality, food and inspirational B&B. If... more

We read the Observer Sunday supplement featuring Alistair Sawday's new book 'Go Slow England' and as we needed to go to Somerset we decided to try one of his featured B&Bs. No 7 West Street, Dunster. We were welcomed with warmth and friendliness and as soon as we were shown to our room at the back of the house, we... more

We returned yesterday from this fantastic little 'Cottage Hotel' and really didn't want to leave when it was time to check-out. From start to finish we had a fantastic stay. We had rushed down after work on Friday and we're extremely stressed and tired on arrival. Lucy showed me to our room while my Fiancé parked the car and I... more

I recently spent a night at this B&B and, based almost entirely on the excellent reviews on this site was looking forward to an exceptional experience. Unfortunately the reality was not exceptional and I came away slightly disappointed. On arrival we were meet by Lucy and shown to our room. We had one of the rooms at the front with... more

We were very distressed to hear that a customer did not enjoy their stay with us. We endeavour to offer a high standard of food, service and accommodation. Our business is run by just the two of us and we try to offer a friendly personal service that you might not find in a big hotel. We therefore take all...

In terms of cleanliness, comfort and relaxation this is the best hotel I have stayed at, and one of the most reasonably priced. The food was amazing, in a different league to what is provided at similar places that I have stayed, and I will certainly return next year! more

I've just returned from three really happy days at 7 West Street, which I found through this website.I wanted a base to do some walking on Exmoor and chose No 7 because it offered evening meals. I'm on my own now and it isn't always comfortable finding a pub or restaurant for an evening meal. The cottage is delightful, several hundred... more

Having read all the other 'rave' reviews, we perhaps had our expectations set too high or perhaps as it is end of season they had let their standards fall a little? The 7 course taster menu was excellent. This was everything we hoped it would be. Unfortunately the housekeeping rather let things down. There were lots of cobwebs, the extractor... more

Having read a review of a Dunster restaurant in the national press we decided to travel the 30 miles to ‘give it a go’. Second thoughts led to us wanting to stay over the better to appreciate our meal and so the internet brought us to the Cottage Hotel web site. Happenstance then took us to a two night promotional... more

If you want to treat yourself to a relaxing break in this pretty town, this 'small but perfectly formed' country hotel must be the place to stay. Our bedroom, the largest of the three overlooking the garden, was absolutely charming with every possible aid to comfort. The food, prepared by the owner, was outstanding and must be sampled. more
