Conygar House is situated in the medieval village of Dunster on the edge of Exmoor. The view from our bedroom window (the Blue Room) perfectly framed the beautiful Castle and to wake to it each morning was simply breathtaking. The personal attention given by our hosts Biddy and Martin Bale was extremely attentive throughout our stay. Morning tea with home... more

The house and gardens were in the most brilliant location. We were made to feel very comfortable by Mr and Mrs Bale. The views from our windows were awesome. The breakfasts were fabulous. We would recommend this B and B to anyone wanting a "Perfick" break. more

I found Conygar House beautiful, clean, and convenient. Its hosts, Martin and Biddy Bale, were the essence of hospitality. Every day, Biddy sent me out on my daily walking trips with a hearty sandwich made with her homegrown tomatoes. On my last day, when I was to travel for 23 hours back to Los Angeles, she gave me some delicious... more

Conygar House is the perfect place to stay in Dunster. The views from the front windows over to the village are stunning, especially on a twilit evening with the Priory and Castle lit up. Our room was clean, comfortable and homely, and Biddy was the perfect hostess - welcoming but never intrusive. Highly recommended. more

We were very lucky to get a cancellation at the last minute at Conygar - which was recommended by a friend in London. We were so glad to see on arrival that these reviews are all true - and spot on! We had the best room in the house - the furniture, linen, and ambience matched and in terms of... more

We recently booked a 3 night break, based on the numerous excellent recommendations reported on Trip Advisor. Having just returned from our stay, we can only re-iterate all the wonderful comments made by the other visitors - this B&B is a little gem. The hospitality, the food, the standard of accommodation were all first class. Nothing appeared to be too... more

This is our second visit to Conygar House and it was just as wonderful an experience as the first. Biddy is most welcoming and friendly, serving us with her delightful cream tea in the beautiful gardens on our arrival. The room was again spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Having parked the car, we didn't use it again until we left... more

A beautiful house situated on a quiet road in a lovely village. Mrs Bale is very attentive and cooks a fantastic breakfast. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and has well kept gardens. We paid a little extra for a superior room but all rooms looked excellent. The photos on the website hide nothing, what you see is exactly... more

We first visited Dunster about 25 years ago and decided now the children have gone, to explore it on our own. The stay at Conygar House for 2 nights was fantastic, the house was spotless and the breakfast had a good variety and was beautifully cooked. Biddy was very welcoming and managed a smile every time she saw you and... more

We were welcomed on arrival with a complimentary cream tea with homemade scones. A tip to others, make sure you are hungry in order to do this justice it was excellent. The house was spotlessly clean and we were given a good sized double room with ensuite facilities. Very comfortable bed with first class linen including the bath towels. Breakfasts... more
