We had one night at The Old Stores, a 17th C cottage, whilst touring Somerset. The cottage is in the centre of the village, and has adequate off road parking for guests.
We were offered tea and home made cake in the lounge upon on arrival, which was very welcome. Our room was clean, and adequate, although I would have expected more for 4 diamond accommodation. Our en-suite bath room was clean, and well presented. However a mechanism to help with the plumbing did make quite a noise when the toilet was flushed.
Breakfast was lovely, using mostly organic produce, and served in the dinning room on a gorgeous large antique table. (All guests sat at the same table).
The end of our stay however was disappointing, as the host knocked on our bedroom door to advise us she needed to leave the house and lock up within 15 minutes, (this was about 10 in the morning). We then had to quickly throw our belongings in our bags, and leave. I believe this was due to unusual...
